ACV vs. RCV

Are you working with your insurance company on a roof replacement claim?

One crucial aspect to understand is the difference between actual cash value or ACV and RCV or replacement cost value.

If your policy covers you from RCV, then your policy covers you for the agreed-upon cost of replacing your roof. If you have only have ACV coverage, you will not be covered for a complete roof replacement. Instead, you’ll get the estimated value of the roof right before the storm event. An adjuster will depreciate the roof based on policy-determined parameters to determine this value.

Before starting work, ensure you know how much of the job will be getting covered.
